TrailMix VBS is a summer camp at Toronto Jaffray Chinese Alliance Church (TJCAC). It exists to
guide children to know and intentionally follow Jesus Christ through connections with experienced and

Position Summary
The position of Camp Volunteer offers tremendous support to the TrailMix VBS Staff, while building
relationships with campers. Volunteers are to attend a week-long (July 5-8) training in preparation for
the camp. Preparations include lesson, craft, song, and setting up decorations.
During Camp, the Volunteer will assist Camp Leaders with supervision of the children and program
implementation. Opportunities will be given to volunteers to take leadership over areas of the Camp
under the oversight of Camp Staff. After Camp, Volunteers will help Camp Staff with running the
Family BBQ Celebration Day. The hope is for Camp Volunteers to develop leadership and interpersonal
skills over the course of the summer.

Qualifications:
• Grade 9 and up
• Enthusiastic to work with children
• Responsible, mature, and self-motivated
• Willing to try new things and step out of their comfort zone
• Follows instructions well and can work with a team
• Cleared police background check

Job Description
• Prepare craft examples for teaching sessions

Position Summary
The position of Camp Coordinator is a full-time position starting May 16th. During May and June,
the Coordinator is responsible for camp curriculum preparation; the training of camp staff; lending
administrative support where needed; communicating with parents/guardians, campers and staff;
and overseeing the plans for all camp programming (registration, field trips, budgeting).
From July 11th to July 28th, the 3 weeks of camp, the Camp Coordinator is responsible to oversee
and direct the programming of the camp in conjunction with the rest of the camp staff. Once camp
has been completed, the Camp Coordinator is required to write a descriptive report on the overall
camp experience, a detailed explanation of all the camps activities and future recommendations.
As well as, the organization and storage of all camp supplies and materials. This is a leadership
position that will shape our summer experience for campers, families, camp staff and volunteers
during our TrailMix Camp weeks.
In conjunction with the camp staff, the Camp Coordinator will ensure the effective operation of all
camp programs on a day-to-day basis during camp weeks. He or she will be responsible for the
supervision and ongoing training of volunteers, and camp staff; the implementation and upholding
of safe practices to ensure camper and staff safety before, during and after camp hours; the
successful coordination of activities and before/after care programs; overseeing the Family BBQ
Celebration Day at the close of camp.

• Manage the camp email account, replying to all camper, parent (guardian), camp staff and
volunteer inquires

Position Summary
The position of AV Technician is a full-time position starting May 16th. The position will have a
variety of tasks and responsibilities.
For the first month, the AV Technician will be working alongside TJCAC Audio Visual Teams to
assist with the weekly production for the worship service, and with the website development team.
In Mid-June, the AV Technician will work with the Camp Director to set up communications
between Camp Leaders, volunteers, and parents. This individual will assist the Summer Camp
Staff with any video recording and editing they may need in preparation for TrailMix VBS.
The children’s Summer Camp will run from July 11th to July 28
th. For the 3 weeks of camp, the
AV Technician is responsible for assisting Camp Staff with programming for the duration of camp.
He or she will be responsible for the supervision of campers and volunteers; the implementation
and upholding of safe practices to ensure camper and staff safety before, during and after camp
hours; the successful coordination of activities and before/after care programs. Due to the
increased work load, the technical responsibilities of website development and assisting the
worship service production team will be paused during this time.
Once camp has completed, the AV Technician will work alongside other staff to organize the
Family BBQ Celebration Day, with the focus on completing an end of Year Video.
