1. New Policies for Indoor Services
While following all of Ontario’s updated COVID 19 public health measures and advice detailed in our safety plan, starting Apr 1, 2022, the following changes for indoor services are in effect at TJCAC:

  • capacity limits and physical distance mandates have been lifted
  • pre-registration for attendance is no longer required
  • other protective measures, such as mask/face covering requirements, hand sanitizing, and passive screening remain in place

TJCAC encourages all attendees to meet in person for the Lord calls us together, and we will reassess our indoor policies and procedures monthly to support in person services.

2. Purity & Marriage – Testimony and Discussion
Speakers: Elder Jason & Sandy Yuen from Toronto Chinese Mennonite Church
Date: Saturday, May 14, 10am-12pm
Place: Main Sanctuary (in-person only event)
Parental Advisory: Mature content, no children under 16 recommended
Description: A testimony of how lust can harm personally and destroy a relationship but how God rescues us from a hopeless situation and can reconcile a marriage.  

3. TrailMix VBS
Theme: Hidden Treasures
Dates: July 11-29

4. International Student Ministry Canada Training
There will be an international student outreach training by Pin & Enoch from ISMC on Friday, May 6 at 7:30-9pm on Zoom. Cultural sensitivity and useful pointers of student outreach will be discussed. If interested, please contact Pastor Ken or Deacon David Wong.

5. Joint Prayer Meeting
The first Wednesday of the month is a joint prayer meeting. Please join us at 8pm on Zoom to pray as one church. Zoom link sent out to those on the mailing list.

6. Vaccination
The church has arranged with The Canadian Centre for Refugee & Immigrant Health Care to provide the 4th dose Pfizer vaccine on Saturday 14 May 2022 (9 am to 11:30 am)to those age 60 and above, and have had their 3rd dose at least 5 months (140 days)before.  Please register on line at https://tjcac.org/cmc_joint_vaccine_2022  and pick 1 of 4 time slots.

7. Staff News
Sister Carmen Li, Jaffray’s Administrative Assistant of 19 years, will be retiring effective August 1, 2022.  She plans to focus on taking care of her family.  May the Lord bless and lead Carmen and her family as they continue to worship and serve in Jaffray.  The Elder Board would like to thank her for her faithful service.  May the Lord bless Jaffray as the Elder Board actively searches to fill the role she is leaving.

8. Passing of Wendy Lee
We are saddened to learn of our church member, Wendy Lee(Cantonese Congregation)  passed away last Sunday. Funeral ceremony will be held on May 1 at 2:30pm at Highland Funeral Home (10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham). May the Lord comfort her family.
