1. Church Anniversary Joint Service
The church will have a joint service to celebrate our 34th Anniversary on September 11 at 11am. You are welcome to join the in-person service or continue to use youtube to partake in the worship. We welcome our dear sister Melody Hon who will be baptised during the joint service and become our church member. The church has arranged a lunch celebration to commemorate our 34th anniversary. The costs of the lunch are $4 for children and $8 for adults. For those who wish to join the lunch celebration, please register on-line through the link posted on the home page of our church website. Registration will end on September 4. For those who are unable to register online, please register at the registration table set up outside the Worship Hall on September 4 from 10:15am till 11:00am.
2. Closing of Sunday Zoom Meetings
After prayerful consideration the EMC has decided English Sunday worship will be transitioning back to in-person only starting October 2. While zoom worship has helped us bridge the period of lockdowns in the last two years, it has also been a significant resource challenge for us with the limited volunteers and expertise we have. We thank all those volunteers who have served faithfully. As we shift our focus back to in-person worship together, if you have been joining us online, we welcome you back and are excited to meet with you.
COVID protocols on church premises including masking remain in effect. The use of zoom for Sunday worship will be re-assessed as the COVID situation evolves. Worship services will continue to be posted to YouTube online after the fact.
3. Commissioning of Pastoral Intern Jason Si
Pastoral Intern Jason Si completed his 2-year internship with Jaffray at the end of August. We were so blessed to have him with us over these 2 years. Although Jason will continue to attend Jaffray, we are happy to be commissioning and praying for him in the English worship service today.
4. Mosaic Small Groups
Small groups begin meeting again in September. Please speak to your small group leader for more details if they haven’t contacted you already.
